Torre Guaceto State and Marine Nature Reserve

Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve is a perfect combination of land and sea, of Mediterranean maquis and dunes, of ancient trees and crystal-clear waters, of prehistoric sites and Posidonia beds.

The Nature Reserve of Torre Guaceto consists of 3 natural habitat: the wetland with a saltwater ponds, similar to small marshes, is rich of a wide variety of plant and animal species, very important for the balance of the ecosystem, biodiversity and migrating birds.

The natural area of the Mediterranean maquis is covered with lush flora such as arbutus, myrtle, juniper trees, thyme, rosemary, orchids and cane fields and it also hosts different types of fauna.

The Marine Reserve is characterized by fish and shellfish, corals, madrepores and gorgonian at various depths; the coastline offers solitary coves with long sandy beaches and unspoiled and rocky shore.
