Apulian taralli are one of the most famous specialities from Puglia, something to munch on at all hours of the day and night, perfect as fanciful appetizers or for happy hour.

They are typical products linked to the Apulian peasant tradition, prepared using the bread dough from the housewives to feed their children during the famine period. Over the past centuries they used to offer their guests taralli with a glass of wine, in order to create a convivial atmosphere, which is the origin of the motto “tarallucci and wine”.

The classical version includes ingredients such as wheat, oil, white wine and salt, but also other spices can be added as fennel seeds, chilly pepper and onions…

Be careful: Apulian taralli are like cherries, can’t eat just one…
